Our Team
The experts driving your project’s success.

Anthony Brewerton
Managing Director
One project I’m particularly proud of is the Amtech development in Wanganui — a large-scale facility featuring 5,836m² of warehousing, 1,626m² of canopy, and 770m² of office space. Visiting the site during construction and seeing the detail and care the team put into such a complex structure was truly inspiring.
Having been here since the very beginning, when it was just Dad and me, I’ve gained a deep understanding of our business values and what it takes to deliver on our promises. That journey from humble beginnings to where we are today shaped my commitment to maintaining our core values while always striving for growth.
Outside of work, I’m passionate about giving back through volunteer work and staying active with training. The most rewarding part of my role is seeing the team we’ve built deliver clarity and value for our clients — that’s what makes it all worthwhile.

Almanzo Boakes
General Manager
As General Manager at Attika, I’m responsible for the day-to-day running of the business and supporting our team to deliver the best outcomes for our clients. I’ve been with the company since the early days and have worked across most departments, which gives me a solid understanding of how each part of a project fits together.
What motivates me is seeing people grow — whether that’s our team stepping into new challenges or our client's achieving success through the spaces we help create. I really enjoy working alongside our design team, clients, and consultants to find creative, practical solutions that get results.
One project that stands out is Shade Systems — it was one of our earlier jobs of that type, and the way the team stepped up to deliver was incredible. Even better has been watching the business go from strength to strength in the years since.
The most rewarding part of my role is seeing people and projects succeed. That’s what it’s all about for me — making things happen.

Owen Brewerton
Project Consultant
My role is all about providing insight, clarity, and direction so that Attika becomes a trusted advisor — not just a supplier. That trust is what drives our long-term success.
One project that really stands out for me is the FHL bulk store. It came with huge challenges — including a neighbouring building burning down mid-programme — and required re-engineering, tight coordination, and the delivery of 13,000m² within the original timeline. It was a test of everything we’re about: adaptability, teamwork, and getting it done.
Having owned a business myself, I bring a commercial mindset and an eye for spotting the real opportunities — the ones that matter most to our clients.
Outside of work, you’ll find me on the bike trails — my go-to for exercise and a mental reset.
The most rewarding part of my job? That phone call at the end of a project when the client says, in their own way, “If it wasn’t for you, I don’t think we’d be here.” That’s what it’s all about.

Vern Lawry
Project Consultant
As a Project Consultant at Attika, I work closely with clients to understand their building needs and develop purpose-built solutions that drive their success. I’m motivated by seeing projects come together through collaboration and problem-solving, and it’s always rewarding to see clients enjoying the end result.
One project I’m especially proud of is the recently completed hangar for Rob Broek — a state-of-the-art facility featuring a two-story office block and modern amenities, designed to support both operational efficiency and professional presentation.
It’s a standout build that reflects strong client relationships and teamwork. With a background in project sales and client relationships, I bring a practical, results-focused approach to every job.
Outside of work, you’ll find me spending time with family, BBQing at home or by the lake, and when summer rolls around — kite buggying up the beach whenever I get the chance.

Arne Filleul
Business Development
In my role as Project Consultant at Attika, I have the pleasure of guiding business owners through the challenges of planning, design, and compliance. I’m involved from the early stages, helping to shape a project’s viability through smart, cost-conscious thinking and a clear understanding of the end goal.
I’m motivated by working with clients who have a strong vision — being able to apply quality cost engineering to support that vision is something I find genuinely rewarding. My role brings together our in-house consultancy team in a collaborative, client-centric way, always focused on adding value and delivering results.
One project I’m particularly proud of is Advance Quip. It was a complex build with features like gantries, truck pit, custom facade, CLT floor and underfloor heating
With many years in the development and fit-out industry, I welcome the level of detail required to achieve a best-in-class outcome. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me doing some home DIY — a 38-year passion project that’s still going strong.
For me, the most rewarding part of this job is bringing the most viable, long-term solution to the table — something the owner can be proud of for years to come.

Glenn Brewerton
Project Manager
I’ve been part of the business for over 20 years, and in my role as Project Manager at Attika, I’m responsible for overseeing project operations — from steel fabrication to delivery, and coordinating contractors on-site. My job is all about making sure each project runs smoothly and is delivered on time.
I’m motivated by the people I work with and the great clients we get to build for. One project I’m especially proud of is the Mainfreight Project in Whanganui. It was great to work with a brand like Mainfreight to delivery this excellent facility for the area
What I bring to the role is practical, on-the-ground knowledge built up over years of experience. I enjoy working alongside contractors and coming up with solutions as challenges arise — it’s one of the most rewarding parts of the job.
Outside of work, I’ve got a soft spot for animals and enjoy spending time around them whenever I get the chance.

Richard Deck
Project Manager
In my role at Attika, I manage projects and oversee operations to ensure we deliver what we promise — on time, and to a high standard. Client satisfaction is always top of mind for me. I see every project as a relationship, and I take pride in creating a family of happy customers who trust us to deliver.
What motivates me is loyalty — to the people we build for, and to the passionate, forward-thinking team I get to work with every day. One project that stands out is the hangar we delivered for Rob Broek. A great client, an epic location, and the largest (and best-looking) hangar at the Alexandra airfield — that one’s a favourite.
I bring a strong attention to detail and the ability to truly listen to our clients. It’s about understanding what they need and then using my experience to bring it to life, right through to completion.
Outside of work, life is full — I spend most of my time with my wife and our three young kids, and when I get the chance, I head to the mountains for a run or bike ride.
The most rewarding part of what I do is seeing a project through from the first plan to the final handover, knowing I’ve played a key part in bringing it all together.

Francis Maamo
Structural Detailing Team Leader
As Structural Detailing Team Leader at Attika, I take concept designs and transform them into fully detailed structural models ready for consent and construction. I work closely with the wider team to ensure each project is efficient, smart, and easy to install.
I’m motivated by the strong work culture at Attika — it gives us the support and tools to deliver our best using cutting-edge technology. One project I’m especially proud of is HWR8000, which had some of the most complex structural detailing we’ve tackled. Thanks to the team’s trust and shared commitment, we delivered it successfully.
With over a decade of structural detailing experience and a ‘can-do’ mentality, I bring technical strength and leadership to the team — always focused on achieving the best result for our clients. For me, the most rewarding part of the job is knowing we’ve met, and often exceeded, client expectations.
Outside of work, you’ll find me outdoors or playing chess — a good mix of strategy and fresh air.

Craig Buist
Senior Quantity Surveyor
I’ve been in the construction industry for nearly 30 years, and my role as Senior Quantity Surveyor at Attika draws on that experience every day. From estimating and tendering to negotiation and planning, I make sure we’re pricing jobs accurately, contracting on time, and setting projects up for success.
What keeps me motivated is the people — both in our team and the clients we work with — and the satisfaction of getting things done well. I enjoy sharing the knowledge I’ve picked up over the years and keeping a cool head no matter what comes my way.
One project I’m particularly proud of is our new Head Office. It’s been a significant step forward for the business and a great example of what our team can achieve together.
Outside of work, I like a bit of adventure. I was part of a team that held two world records for the longest distance skied on an artificial slope in 24 hours — and while I still love the challenge, the body’s not quite as enthusiastic as it used to be!
