Straitline Canvas is a family-owned business that installs truck curtain sides. Working across three buildings and two locations, the team completed a lot of installation work outside, exposed to the elements and near a busy road. Due to expansion and a need for new equipment, they needed more space.
The Challenge
Due to the work Straitline Canvas carries out, the movement of large truck and trailer units needed to be taken into consideration in the design. The site was reasonably tight, resulting in a precast panel on the boundary.
The Solution
Eliminating internal columns in the workshop bays allowed ease of movement for trucks coming in and out, ensuring a safer and more efficient workspace. Due to stormwater challenges, large underground detention tanks were installed.
With the new building, Straitline Canvas has been able to make impressive improvements in productivity. Additionally, staff can now complete installation work inside.
